Katy Perry Wants to Take a Vacation

Katy Perry is apparently ready to take some time off from releasing singles and albums. During an acceptance speech for artist of the year at the NARM Music Awards, Perry said that she is going to take a vacation.

Billboard.com reports that the latest single, "Wide Awake", was written specifically for her "Part of Me 3D" movie. As we previously reported, the movie hits the theaters in July.

Katy Perry Dyes Hair Purple

Katy Perry has once again dyed her hair, this time she's gone purple! The songstress has had various hairstyles and hair colors, all from purple to blue and now finally a "purple velvet". Perry apparently dyed her hair before the Coachella festival on April 14th and she tweeted it out to her followers two days before the festival.

Rita Hazan, who is Perry's hairstylist, said the following about the hair, US Weekly reports.
"She wanted to go to a more dramatic, darker, almost punk rock Goth vibe. Her new color is what I call 'purple velvet' -- it's dark and rich."

Nominations for the 2012 Billboard Awards are Out!

The nominees for the 2012 Billboard Awards have been revealed, with Adele, LMFAO, and Rihanna being front runners of the race. Adele racked up 18 nominations, LMFAO scored 17, and Rihanna had 13 nods.

The awards show will take place in Las Vegas’ MGM Grand. The live broadcast will air on Sunday May 20 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.

Katy Perry Declined Being in Oscar Nominated "The Help"

It would seem that Katy Perry had the chance to be apart of the Oscar nominated movie, "The Help". However, the singer stated it was only a small part, she wasn't going to play the main character.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Perry was forced to decline due to the shooting schedule conflicted with the release of her new record. Despite the role just being a small one, she was a bit disappointed having to decline it. Mainly due to the impact and importance she knew the movie would have.

Katy Perry's 3D concert movie which depicts the singer's life, both on and off the stage, will be released on July 5th in cinemas in the United States. Many might remember Justin Bieber's concert movie and yes, it's the same company which have been working on Perry's movie.

The movie is named after Perry's new single, "Part of Me", and it recently had its trailer released, Reuters.com reports. Paramount and Perry teamed up together to produce what's being promoted as the first big screen look of Perry's life.

Rihanna Announces World Tour in 2013

Rihanna will be heading out on a world tour in 2013, Celebuzz reports. The world tour will be in support of Rihanna's "Talk That Talk" album which was released in November last year.

Apparently Rihanna will make the world tour both "bigger and more impactful" than previous tours. She also revealed that the tour will be a bit different than usual. Although in what way she did not state.

Rihanna also confirmed that a collaboration with BFF Katy Perry is indeed going to happen. Exciting, right?

Katy Perry Teases with "Part Of Me" MV Trailer

Katy Perry gives fans a tease with a trailer of her upcoming music video for "Part Of Me"!

Though the song and lyrics are suggestive of a breakup, the pop princess declines that it has anything to do with her recent divorce from comedian Russell Brand. Perry insists that she wrote the song two years ago.

The trailer gives fans a glimpse of Perry clad in a military uniform, armed with heavy artillery, caught up in what looks like a war-zone. Check it out!

Katy Perry was recently featured in Interview Magazine's March 2012 issue. The singer looks stunning in black and white photos and dare we say, she looks just a tiny bit like Amy Winehouse.

Katy Perry to Donate Proceeds from "Part Of Me" to Charity

Pop singer Katy Perry will be donating the proceeds from her latest single "Part Of Me" to charity. The generous contribution will be going to MusiCares, an organization that works towards supporting musicians in need - financially and medically.

The do-gooder tweeted about the move, saying, "My proceeds of #PARTOFME from ITUNES & others will go to one of my favorite charities for the arts, MUSICARES"

Katy Perry Reveals New Single + Album Details

Last month, Katy Perry announced that she'll be releasing a repackaged version of her double platinum album Teenage Dream. The skinny on the album have finally surfaced!

'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection' is schedule to debut on March 27th and will have a total of 19 tracks. All 12 original tracks will be included, as well as an alternate version of "E.T.", "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)", and (an acoustic version of) "The One That Got Away". But that's not all! The Complete Confection will also include a seven minute long mash-up for the album's six singles!

As for immediate releases, Katy has just announced that the first single off of her newly refurbished album, is called "Part of Me". Part of Me will drop February 21.

Looks like the performers list for the 2012 Grammy Awards has just gotten even more star-studded! Adele and Katy Perry have been confirmed to take the stage on February 12th.

Adele shared the news via a tweet, saying, “Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It’s been so long I started to forget I was a singer!” , indicating her excitement to be on the stage again.

The newly single Perry will also be making her first TV appearance since her split from Russell Brand on the awards show.

Katy Perry Makes First Public Appearance in the U.S After Divorce

Katy Perry is finally going to make a public appearance in the U.S after her split with former husband, Russel Brand. According to popcrush, the singer will be attending the opening party for 1 OAK Las Vegas with Markus Molinari this Friday.

Perry cancelled her previous public appearance at the People's Choice Awards and the reason for the cancellation was never stated. The coming public appearance won't be the first one ever since her divorce though, the singer was previously performing in Indonesia during her "California Dreams" tour.

Perry is up for two nominations, first one being favorite pop artist and second being favorite female pop artist. According to Aol Music, Perry was scheduled to attend albeit not perform at the awards.

Good friends and pop princesses Rihanna and Katy Perry are reportedly planning a girls' trip together following Katy's divorce from Russell Brand.

According to The Mirror, Rihanna wants to bring Katy to Mexico for a girly getaway so she can "clear her head".

The source continues to note that the two have since cleared their schedules to make the trip happen.

Katy Perry Made Russell Brand File For Divorce

On December 30th, Katy Perry and Russell Brand announced the end of their marriage.

While Russell may have been the one to file for the divorce, it seems a though Katy was the one who pushed him to do it.

According to TMZ, Katy wanted the divorce but never filed for it because she didn't want to upset her evangelical Christian parents. To get the divorce and stay in the good grace of her parents, she had Russell be the one to file for the divorce.

The former couple got married in India in October 2010. Russell released a statement regarding the divorce, stating that he will always adore her and remain her friend.

The couple filed for divorce in Los Angeles, California, citing "irreconcilable differences".

There have been many speculations that their relationship was on the rocks, which started with the couple spotted without their wedding rings, amplified further by the fact that the two spent the holiday season apart.

Spotify Reveals Top 10 Played Tracks Of 2011

The streaming music service Spotify has revealed the top 10 most played tracks of 2011.

It comes without surprise that Adele, who sold more records than any artist in the past 7 years, came out on top. The catchy, foot-stomping single "Rolling In The Deep" was played more times than any other song in 2011.

Following close behind was Bruno Mars with his hit single "Grenade".

Rihanna had the most songs in the top 10. The singer had 3 tracks on the chart, while Adele and Jessie J each only had 2 songs in the top 10.
