It has been nearly two years since Bruno Mars released his "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" album, now the singer has teased us with updates regarding his second album.
According to popcrush, the new album is about halfway done, or so the singer tweeted: "I want you guys to know that I'm halfway done with my second album. I couldn't be happier :)"
As of now, we got no set title or release date for the album. During these two years, the singer hasn't been idle. In fact, he has worked with plenty of artists such as Adam Lambert, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Eminem and more.

Eminem has revealed that he has started to work on his next solo album according to an interview with Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg.
This will be his first solo record since Recovery, which was released in 2010. The new album will also be the followup to Hell the Sequel, a debut collaboration with Royce da 5'9", Bad Meets Evil.
Eminem is also completing his work on a new album for Staughterhouse, who are set to make their Shady Records debut June 12th. The group will also play at Hot 97's Summer Jam on June 3rd at MetLife Stadium.
During their interview with W Star News, the boys of rookie boyband, NU'EST, were asked, "Excluding your labelmates, who is your favorite artist?"
JR revealed, "The members all like TVXQ and Big Bang", and continued, "As for me individually, I like Eminem. At first, no one appreciated him, but he put in a lot of effort and later, he achieved recognition from white people, black people, everyone and became the best singer. I also want to try to become the best musician recognized by everyone."
Ren said that he liked Michael Jackson and Beyoncé and explained, "I long to take after their perfection."
Aron picked a Korean artist as his favourite, namely Lee Jeok. "My vocal teacher often tells me that my singing resembles Lee Jeok's tone of voice", he said.
Baekho picked TVXQ and stated that he admires TVXQ's powerful image and stages. He wants to show off such a powerful image as well.
Big Bang was Min Hyun's choice as favourite artist. He explained his choice by saying, "They show their fans that they enjoy the stage. I also want to become a person who knows how to enjoy himself on stage and will put in a lot of effort to do so."
Nicki Minaj is apparently the most followed hip hop artist on twitter! The rapper reached a total of 8,266,841 followers, even beating fellow star Eminem who has 8,246,297 followers. Of course, these stats are still counting as more and more people are following their favorite artists on twitter.

The 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards that took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland has come and gone, entertaining fans with electrifying performances and awards for deserving winners.
The big winner of the night was none other than Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, who bagged four awards home. Other big winners include crooner Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber, who each won two awards.
One of K-Pop's biggest bands Big Bang nabbed the Best Worldwide Act award, much to the delight of VIPs around the world!

Eminem used to have a drug addiction. For years, the rapper would take pill after pill until he finally overdosed in 2007. One of the pills he took was Ambien. According to Eminem, the drug has caused him to lose years of his life from his memory.
"…a lot of my memory is gone. I don't know if you've ever taken Ambien, but it's kind of a memory-eraser. That shit wiped out five years of my life. People will tell me stories, and it's like, "I did that?" I saw myself doing this thing on BET recently, and I was like, "When was that?"," Eminem stated.
During the height of his addiction, Eminem said he was taking 60 Valium and 30 Vicodin a day. Things began to change after nearly dying from overdosing. When the doctors told him he was taking the equivalent of 4 bags of heroin and was 2 hours away from dying, the rapper changed his life and became clean.
Cheryl Cole may be a pop princess in Britain, but the Girls Aloud member is taking a more urban route with her upcoming album.
According to the Daily Star, Cheryl has already lined up duets with Rihanna and Usher. She is also in talks to collaborate with Eminem and Nicki Minaj.
According to Will.i.am, there is one track in particular that Nicki would be perfect for, so they are trying to get her to work on the track with them.
"Most of Cheryl’s vocals have been laid down now after doing much of the recording a few months ago in LA at the studio underneath the Sunset Marquis hotel, and then with her recent stint in New York with Alex da Kid and some other incredible hip hop producers who’ve worked with the Black Eyed Peas," a source for the Daily Star stated.

During her recent concert tour "Speak Now", you'd have noticed that she's been singing cover songs off other artists - Nicki Minaj, Eminem etc.

In December, Australian hip hop fans will be able to experience an amazing one-off concert by the two superstars, Eminem and Lil Wayne. They will hold their special concert at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on 1st December.
Tickets for the event will go on sale on 13th September. You can purchase them at Ticketmaster.
It caused quite a stir in the hip hop world when Rolling Stone magazine crowned Eminem as the new "King of Hip Hop". He beat out heavyweights like Jay-Z, Kanye West and narrowly won over Lil' Wayne and Drake too. Surprisingly, Nicki Minaj was also on the rank at No.6 (magazine stated that they'd like to think of 'King' as gender-neutral).
So what was the rank based on? Well, factors such as chart placings, airplay, YouTube ratings, digital song sales, awards won, reviews and tour revenue etc. were taken into consideration. Congrats to Eminem for overtaking the new title.

Dreamworks has decided not to continue with Eminem's movie comeback according to Music-News.com. "Southpaw" was set to begin production in 2012 with its release to follow in 2013.
In the film, Eminem was to play a boxer and Music-News.com reports that the movie was possibly axed because of how many films tied to boxing have begun production.
The rapper is currently pitching the film to other movie studios.
Southpaw is an expression used to describe a boxing stance where the boxer has their right hand and right foot leaning forward to take the right jab.
Forbes magazine has revealed their Cash Kings 2011 list, ranking the hip-hop's top earners. The top earner this past year was Jay-Z with $37 million. This is the 4th year out of 5 that he has topped the list.
Nicki Minaj made the list this year at number 15 with $6.5 million. This is the first time a woman has ever made the list.

An inside source has revealed that Christina Aguilera is working with Eminem on a track on her upcoming 5th album. With the collaborative track "Love The Way You Lie" between Rihanna and Eminem becoming a smash hit last year, Christina hopes her collaboration will help kick-start her career.
"Christina knows after her last album bombed that she would have to do something special for fans to be interested in her music again. It's a killer track and is bound to be a massive worldwide hit if released as a single, which is exactly what Christina is hoping for. She can't wait to release the record and prove all her critics wrong," the insider said.
Christina's 5th album is expected to be released sometime in 2012.
With MTV celebrating its 30th anniversary on August 1st, Billboard polled its readers on which music videos were the best of the 80s, 90s and 00s. Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video took the top spot of the 80s, Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time" topped the 90s list and Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" came out on top of the 00s.
